SKIPTON Juniors Football Club has been given £1,500 by the West Riding Masonic Charities to buy new wheeled goals.
The growing club uses the wheeled goalposts for the girls’ and boys’ teams aged between under 11s to under 14s.
Ian Longden, club chairman, said: “It’s fantastic for the club to receive such generous support from the Freemasons and we thank them very much. The club requires three different sizes of goals to suit the differing needs of boys’ and girls’ teams, and having goals which can be easily wheeled into position for training and matches is hugely appreciated by the club, coaches and volunteers.
“We are a not-for-profit organisation and all the funds we receive are ploughed back into the club to improve facilities and create more opportunities for our players.”
Phil Smith, the Master at Craven Lodge, said: “We are delighted to assist Skipton Juniors in the purchase of some new wheeled goal posts. All at Craven Lodge are hoping the Juniors go from strength to strength.”
